Miller is Professor of Political Theory at Oxford University and Fellow of the British Academy. He is perhaps the most distinguished, and certainly the most productive, British political theorist. His research focuses on theories of justice and equality, environmental justice, democratic theory, the concepts of nationality and citizenship, multiculturalism and immigration, and global justice. David Miller's research interests may be of special relevance for the Chinese context because they directly bear on some of the challenges that China is facing now, such as how to close the gap between rich and poor, how to promote a morally-defensible form of nationalism, and how to develop economically without destroying the environment. His ideas should stimulate much interest and discussion in China. |

英国圣安德鲁斯大学道德哲学教授；简介：斯科如普斯基（John Maria SKORUPSKI）教授现为英国圣安德鲁斯大学道德哲学教授。他在剑桥大学获得博士学位。曾任比利时卢汶大学访问教授，南威尔士大学研究员，并曾在格拉斯哥大学，谢菲尔德大学任教。斯科如普斯基教授的研究领域包括认识论、语言哲学、道德与政治哲学、科学哲学及现代哲学史。他对英国古典自由主义大师斯图亚特•密尔有精深的研究，曾发表了一系列有关密尔及功利主义的研究论文和专著。目前他正在写作一本专著《理性的领域》，该书试图提供对理性的逻辑学、认识论和形而上学的分析。 |
