　　In the past five years, SHSS has made significant achievements in research.

　　 Research Team
In order to advance its programs in the humanities and social sciences, SHSS has recruited many leading scholars. Currently, there are 270 faculty members involved in research, including 197 associate professors and full professors, and many adjacent professors and guest professors and professors from abroad.

　　 Research Projects
Currently, SHSS has undertaken 370 research projects, including 70 projects funded by the National Funds of Social Sciences, the National Funds of Sciences, and National Soft Science, 122 funded by the Ministry of Education, the Municipal Government of Beijing, and by different ministries of the central government and provinces. Currently, there are 196 projects in process.

　　Achievements
SHSS has won many awards for its achievements. Currently, the SHSS has won over 200 awards. For instance, Professor Li Xueqin in the Institute of Thought and Culture, Professor Li Qiang in the Department of Sociology, and Professor Wu Tong in the Institute of Science, Technology and Society won awards for outstanding achievements in the first National Funds of Social Sciences Conference; Professor Li Xueqin and Professor Li Qiang both won the first prize for outstanding achievements in the humanities and social sciences in the third national conference in the field; Professor Zeng Guoping in the Institute of Science, Technology and Society won the first prize for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences in Beijing and Professor Wang Lu in the Department of Philosophy won the second prize for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences in Beijing at the eighth conference.
Currently, the faculty of SHSS has published 589 books and 2970 research papers, which outnumbers the departments and schools in the field of the humanities and social sciences at Tsinghua, and because of which it has been the winner of the first prize in research in the humanities and social sciences at Tsinghua for five years on end.

　　 Research Institutions and Key Research Bases
In addition to the research institutions in different fields, SHSS has also set up interdisciplinary research institutions, such as Research Center for the Humanities, Center for the Study of Contemporary China, Center for Advanced Study, Center for the Study of Languages, and so on. The National Research Base for the Humanities and Social Sciences (also called Center for Moral Education in Universities) and Center for Liberal Education of Tsinghua University are housed in SHSS.
